Spending his early years growing up in Ireland, Gerard has called Australia home for the past 40 years and after an initial career as a Jeweller/Watchmaker, but with an obvious interest in mathematics during his schooling years, he made the transition to Real Estate Sales at the young age of 23.
Having found his real passion, along with discovering his talent for communication & the ability to successfully negotiate any sale, Gerard commenced his own Real Estate Business back in 1990 after studying at the Western University of Sydney, where he completed a Business Degree along with focusing on Valuation & Real Estate Studies.
After experiencing great success for 20 years operating as a boutique Agency in Ballarat, Gerard & his business partner and wife Margot, rebranded their Agency to join the Harcourts Group of Agencies in 2010, which enabled the business to grow & expand even further supported by a global network of exceptional industry professionals and training opportunities.
The Harcourts Group is continually setting high standards by providing the benchmark in this ever changing Real Estate Industry striving to consistently improve customer service levels and ensuring that its members are fully trained and knowledgeable in all facets of the industry, with compulsory attendance at the recognised and accredited Harcourts Training Academy.
Expanding to operate businesses in both Mornington & Frankston, Gerard now has his focus on the ever growing Melbourne market only. His 40 years of industry experience, commencing real estate offices from scratch and successfully improving existing business operations, has earned Gerard a reputation for being one of the most successful, energetic and knowledgeable people in the property industry today.
His leadership skills, along with his ability to identify and attract the top people in the business to join the Harcourts Group, has enabled his businesses to thrive, whilst generously providing exceptional opportunities for existing staff to learn management skills and also prosper in the business.
In more recent years Gerard has also gained extensive experience specialising in Land Sub-Division, Speculation Building and Special Project Developments. He is currently still actively involved in a large commercial development 10 year project, which is in the process of constructing a large land subdivision, supermarket, medical precinct and child care centre.
Still a keen cyclist, Gerard believes it's imperative to keep fit, healthy & active, which ensures a sharp mind.
