Hi, my name is Alan (Bear) Morgan. I have lived in the Whangarei area all my life; most of it at Maungakaramea, where I was a butcher for 30 years and the last 12 years at Waipu.
I started real estate with Thomson and Bagley in Whangarei around 1997, part time after my good friend Gary Caldwell, whom I played representative Golf with, suggested I give it a go. In 1999 the butchery business was closed and so I moved onto real estate full time, joining Tait Real Estate where I enjoyed some wonderful times and met some great people.
I have always been a keen sportsperson and love all aspects of sport. Rugby was my No1 passion but a serious neck injury side lined my ambitions to achieve higher hopes. Our family all played tennis and my father and I represented Northland in the 60´s, him a senior, myself a junior. I took up Golf as a 12-year-old and played for Northland from when I was a school boy through to senior level. I was lucky enough to be Captain of the Northland Golf Team which won the NZ Masters at Hastings in 1998, probably the highlight of my golfing career. A few years later I was awarded the “Northland Fair Play Award at the Sportsman of the Year´s Awards.
I enjoy meeting people and have been supported by my wife Sue for 42 years and have 2 sons Justin and Ben.
