"Impressive wide street frontage, this stunning homette has large north facing window allowing the winter sun to stream in and a glorious ambiance, located close to the beach and all Glenelg has to offer." Need | O'Donohue Team
What our client has to say:
The owner loves the natural light and airy appearance, the renovations and of course the location, quiet street and neighbours but close to transport, shops and the beach. She also enjoys how the home is ideal for entertaining with the extra large dining area for family entertaining.
The house is easy for family get togethers and entertaining. The kitchen is a great place for everyone to congregate and then move out to the covered outdoor area which still gets the summer afternoon sea breezes.
The owner says she opted for quality fittings. Throughout the house is commercial grade flooring, tinted north facing bay windows and local businesses were used as much as possible to update each room.
The inbuilt wardrobes mirror the same pattern which match the panelled internal doors. They also include heavy duty shelving to store any heavy items. I kept the ornate original cornices which keep the integrity of the home.
I also had crimsafe doors on front and back doors for security and the back door features a doggy/cat door. I also have installed a ducted reverse cycle Daikin air conditioner. There is also a gas heater in the lounge which makes it cosy in minutes in winter.
The best part about living here is location. Only 2km to Jetty Rd Glenelg and about 10 minute casual walk to the beach.
As the home faces north the big bay windows get the beautiful northern sun. In summer as the day heats the tree of the footpath provides the perfect amount of shade over the house and with the outside blinds and lined curtains the house remains extremely comfortable.
The second bedroom remains very cool over summer as it doesn't get the sun over summer. The back entertainment area always gets a lovely cool breeze over summer so it is a perfect place to sit and unwind at the end of the day.
My favourite parts of the home would be the lounge area with the large bay windows- I can see out but with the tinted windows people who walk past can't see in. I also love the entertainment area at the back of the house. I can put the mood lighting on and chill from a hard day. It is so private and quiet.
I love the low maintenance of the outside areas. With the artificial turf out the front of the house it looks cool and inviting and I can change my pot plants from the back area to the front of the garden by the use of a secured gate with ease.
I completely renovated the house, kitchen, bathroom, laundry, floor coverings, curtains, lighting, knock down an interior wall to open the kitchen and dining area, square up the arched areas and to completely revamp outside areas including large pergola. I chose Philip Coker design to manage the whole project which was relatively simple. I also purchased a new hot water service, a new inverter for the solar power panels and had ceiling fans installed in the bedrooms.
The room sizes are large, especially the main. Both bedrooms can easily fit queen size beds which is fantastic when guests stay with us. There was always ample room for all of us and our guests had a generous amount of wardrobe space with the large built in wardrobe in their room also. The lounge room is large but still cosy and I can change it around when I want as there is three antenna points.
My best memories are in the kitchen. I love cooking, so to be able to cook up a storm in my dream kitchen was a delight. My children would sit on the bar stools and sample my cooking. We had some beautiful memories of these times.
I will miss the neighbourhood. The neighbours are all very welcoming. I will miss my beautiful kitchen as everything was in easy reach. I had so much fun designing it and the colour palette.
Within reach of everything important. I could be at cafes and restaurants within minutes by car or a leisurely stroll. The beach is perfect for cooling down in summer and it is a great spot to walk your dog and it is a family friendly spot.
There are two entrances to the property as there is s quiet lane way. I had double gates installed so you could park a car, trailer or a small van via the lane way entrance.
I love being so close to Jetty road Glenelg - a very easy stroll. The shops at Oaklands road are a great alternative if you want something quick or you can be down the beach in ten minutes. Public transport is so convenient with the buses on Brighton road.
It is the perfect home with minimal maintenance. Everything is done, ready to move in.
